Freedom in Silence is an immersive cultural project that explores how liberty manifests beyond politics through lifestyle, self-sufficiency, and voluntary tradition. The initiative takes a group of young storytellers, students, and filmmakers to live with the Baduy Dalam, an indigenous community in Indonesia that consciously rejects modern technology in favor of autonomy and harmony. By experiencing this way of life, participants reflect on principles like non-aggression, self-ownership, and voluntary association. The journey culminates in a short documentary film capturing their reflections and interactions, designed to reframe liberty as a human experience rooted in cultural respect. This creative approach highlights how freedom can thrive in simplicity and isolation (beyond mainstream definitions) and connects indigenous wisdom with libertarian values.
Initial Objectives:
- Facilitate a field trip with 8-10 youth participants.
- Produce and release a short film targeting 1,000+ social media viewers.
- Highlight how cultural autonomy, voluntary simplicity, and non-coercion are lived expressions of freedom.
