Plus Libres Plus Verts! – Conference, France

Félicitations to SFL France (les Affranchis) for their successful conference last month. Despite all efforts to host an in-person conference, the team was quick to adapt to new regulations and went virtual.

Tackling the hot topic of free-market environmentalism, the all-day agenda hosted six speakers covering different aspects of the debate for an impressive 89 virtual attendees.

Kudos to Élodie and Guillaume Moukala Same for their sterling leadership!

Nagorno-Karabakh

You have likely heard about the escalation of state violence in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh in the Caucasus during the last month. As usual, it is ordinary citizens who are suffering because of state aggression.

ESFL has current and former leaders from both Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Tomek Kołodziejczuk of ESFL Poland hosted a debate to discuss this conflict in more detail. You can watch the debate by clicking on the button below.

Please also read the statement issued by SFL and consider sharing it through your local groups and/or personal pages to help spread awareness about what is happening.

“As a community founded on the principles that value human life and dignity, Students For Liberty strongly believes that only economic, social, and intellectual freedom for all people can foster peace and prosperity.

War only brings loss and misery. It devastates lives, disrupts economies, breaks apart families, halts progress, and endorses mass destruction. It is widely believed that in order to achieve a truly prosperous life, military action needs to be avoided at all costs. War is never the answer.”

Writing For Liberty

A special mention is deserved this month for a major accomplishment. Huge congratulations to Admir Cavalic for his authorship of a new academic textbook dealing with populism titled: Populizam-izabrane teme (translation: Populism-Chosen Themes) which was published earlier this year. Congratulations are also due to Aldina Jahic for her contribution to the book. Aldina’s section is called: Politika Identiteta Kao Forma Političkog Populizma (translation: Identity Politics As A Form Of Political Populism).

Now is a perfect time to develop a new skill and add some valuable items to your professional repertoire. ESFL has produced several successful writers for liberty who have published numerous articles in mainstream media outlets, bringing a libertarian voice to the public forum.

We have all the tools you need to get started.

Recruitment Competition!

Recruitment Competition – Win a $150 Amazon Gift Card

By now, you should have received an email from Liza explaining the rules of our new recruitment competition. However, just to recap:

The rules

1. The person who gets the most referrals (i.e. 20 individuals applying). Please note that we will only count applicants who complete the training by December 31.

2. The person who will have the biggest impact on the team and expands the team the most (i.e. expanded the team by 70%). Please, note that we will only count applicants who complete the training by December 31.

3. When recruiting, please ask the applicant to include your name in the space provided on the application form (i.e. ‘How did you hear about us?’). If the applicant does not include your name here, we will not have the information we need to award you the points.

4. Please also take into consideration that there can be only one price claimed by a single leader (e.g. if you recruit the most and have the biggest impact, you can claim one prize from these options).

5. The competition is open to all current ESFL leaders. It officially began on October 1 and will run until December 31. The winner will be announced shortly afterwards.

ESFL Top Recruiter of the Year

We are also introducing a new awards category this year that anyone can compete for. The leader who recruits the most new people to the network will be able to claim this new prize. Remember, we are only counting recruits that complete the training and not simple referrals.

Recruitment Points in Gamification

Remember, you also get leaderboard points for recruitment:

  • Referral = 2000
  • Accepted Candidate = 3000
  • Candidate Completes Training = 5000

This means you’ll get an additional 10,000 points for every recruit who completes the training!
