About the Role
Overview
The Midwest Regional Lead supports and grows the SFL network across the Midwest (OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, MN, IA, MO, ND, SD, NE, KS), acting as the primary point of contact between the NAP staff, State Directors (SD), and Local Coordinators (LCs) in the region. This is a part-time, remote role reporting to the NAP staff
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison for LCs across assigned Midwest states, providing ongoing support, coaching, and troubleshooting
- Recruit new coordinators at unrepresented campuses within the region
- Onboard new LCs: orientation calls, resource walkthroughs, expectation-setting
- Table on their own campus and support/encourage tabling efforts among LCs in the region
- Monitor chapter activity and Report of Activity submissions for LCs in the region, flagging inactive or at-risk chapters
- Facilitate regional communication (regional Slack/Discord channels, group calls, newsletters)
- Support event logistics for regional conferences, tabling, and campus events, including in-person attendance when needed
- Identify high-performing coordinators for advancement into leadership tracks
- Report regional trends, wins, and challenges to Programs Director/Associates on a regular cadence
- Help coordinators navigate reimbursement, scholarship, and points/reward system processes
Qualifications
- Prior experience as an SFL Coordinator preferred
- Based in or familiar with the Midwest college landscape
- Required: must table regularly on their own campus, or have the time available to do so.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the region for events, conferences, and campus visits
- Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple relationships simultaneously
- Self-directed, reliable with async/remote work
- Passion for liberty, free markets, and civil liberties advocacy on campus
Time Commitment & Compensation
- Typical time commitment: 10 hours per week
- Compensation: $600 USD per month
