Some of the most pro-liberty politicians are coming to LibertyCon! Joining us on the Saturday of the conference, we will welcome Congressman Justin Amash, British MEP Daniel Hannan, Canadian MP Maxime Bernier, and former Prime Minister of Estonia Mart Laar.

This will be the first time these four have been gathered under one roof. Together, they form our Liberty in Politics panel and they will take part in a discussion on the roadblocks faced by pro-liberty politicians, as well as their approach to some of the most pressing issues of our time.

Justin Amash

Justin Amash is the United States Congressman representing Michigan’s 3rd congressional district, which encompasses Grand Rapids. Amash has consistently defended constitutional principles, opposed wasteful spending, and advocated for an accountable and limited government. He sits on the House Freedom Caucus which has established itself as a positive force for pro-liberty legislation. Recently, Amash has been leading a bipartisan effort against mass surveillance.

Daniel Hannan

Daniel Hannan is a Member of European Parliament (MEP) representing the United Kingdom. He is one of the most prominent pro-Brexit politicians and is even referred to as the “Brexit architect.” Hannan is a strong advocate for classical liberal principles such as independence. He has authored multiple books and is a leading force for change in Britain.

Maxime Bernier

Maxime Bernier is a Canadian Member of Parliament representing Quebec. Also a businessman and a lawyer, Bernier is known for quoting classical liberal economists. As he describes himself, “They can call me a fiscal conservative, they can call me a conservative who believes in freedom, they can call me reasonable libertarian, call me anything you want — call me Max, call me Maxime, call me ‘Mad Max’.”

Mart Laar

Mart Laar is the former Prime Minister of Estonia, having served from 1992 – 1994 and then again from 1999 – 2002. Laar is held responsible for Estonia’s rapid economic development which took place in the 1990s. His government abolished tariffs and subsidies, balanced the budget, and was the first in Europe to implement a flat tax. Before he became Prime Minister in 1992, he claims the only economics book he read was Free to Choose by Milton Friedman.

The Liberty in Politics panel is sure to be one of the most memorable parts of LibertyCon. It will take place on the evening of Saturday, March 3 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Attendance of the Liberty in Politics panel is free of charge to all LibertyCon registrants.
