Fiyinfoluwa Elegbede
In memory of Fiyin
July 7, 1985 – February 9, 2021

All of us at Students For Liberty are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Fiyinfoluwa Elegbede, 36, who died on February 9, 2021.

Fiyinfoluwa was a firm believer in classical liberal ideas and the principles of liberty, and he was a dear friend of African Students For Liberty. He began the journey of raising the next generation of leaders of liberty in his home country, Nigeria and abroad, in the United States, about a decade ago, supporting SFL activism both as a leader and an alumnus.

Fiyinfoluwa served as a founding coordinator of Students For Liberty Africa in our Charter Teams program, a contributing writer for African Liberty, a Koch Fellow at the Atlas Network, and Director of Digital Marketing at The Bluegrass Institute. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an all around gentleman.

The Students For Liberty community expresses their deepest condolences to Fiyinfoluwa’s family and friends. We are sad to have lost Fiyin, but his legacy as an advocate for a freer world will continue to live on in our hearts.

About Students For Liberty: Students For Liberty is a 501(c)(3) U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders. SFL empowers students from all over the world to become agents of change and promote a freer future.
