African Students For Liberty Farewell Stories: Winfred Nduati, Kenya

Published on

Winfred served as the Regional Coordinator for Recruitment & Expansion in East Africa during the past year. She is also the co-founder and current Head of Operations of Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA), in Kenya, an organization she was introduced to by Linda Kavuka, Director of African Programs of Students For Liberty.

She first got involved in the African Liberty Movement in 2013 after reading Tom Palmer’s book Why Liberty.

During the same year, she found liberty when SFL Kenya was running the program ‘Issue-Based Political Dialogues,’ which focused more on citizen’s voting based on issue-based political ideologies instead of tribal-based politics, which is usually the norm.

The project saw a great turn out with over 700 participants and among them, 30 were crowned as brand ambassadors for the project.

Afterwards, Winfred later became the National Coordinator for Kenya and moved on to become the Regional Coordinator for East Africa.

Winfred was responsible for running and supporting several projects and leader activities in her home country, Kenya, and across East Africa. She successfully ran two East Africa Regional Conferences in 2018 and 2019, with almost 500 attendees at both events.

In 2018, Winfred was selected to represent Africa and received a full scholarship to participate in Students For Liberty’s Top Global Leadership Retreat in Washington D.C.

She is also a graduate of the Atlas Network’s Leadership Academy, where she took courses on leadership and think tank management.

Because of her experience with planning projects and executing ideas, Winfred currently works as a reservations agent at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, where she creates itineraries for guests.
