Video Production Associate

Students For Liberty (SFL) is the largest pro-liberty student organization in the world, with student leaders spanning well over 100 countries on every inhabited continent. Our mission is to educate, develop, and empower the next generation of leaders of liberty. We accomplish this through a strategy of empowerment, identifying the top student leaders, and training them to be agents of change in their communities.

Position Summary

Students For Liberty is currently seeking a passionate and professional individual to serve as a Video Production Associate. This is a full-time position at the video team, advancing our mission. This individual needs to have a diverse skill set primarily in storytelling, filming, motion design, and video editing, and must have a strong and intuitive understanding of visual composition, design principles, and emotional storytelling, in order to create impactful explainer videos and short documentaries that show the real-world impact of SFL. They also need to be familiar with the stages of video production. Knowledge of on-site international video shoot processes is a plus.

The Video Production Associate will work with our team to produce short documentaries, explainer videos, promo videos for events and initiatives, and organize our footage library. A successful candidate will have open and clear communication, ownership over their work and have a firm commitment to SFL’s mission statement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Writing personal & emotional scripts and storyboards for short documentaries;
  • Creating and editing high-quality, impactful and emotional documentaries;
  • Creating impactful, eye-catching motion graphics and animations for YouTube-style explainer videos;
  • Creating high-quality hype & recap videos for events and conferences;
  • Having a strong understanding of color correction and audio editing;
  • Having strong understanding of filming equipment and its technical aspects;
  • Traveling with the team to cover events, conferences, and shoot documentaries;
  • Having knowledge of how to film and conduct interviews;
  • Planning for logistics of on-locations shoots (Permits, scheduling, pre-production, etc.)
  • Working with a team on a tight production schedule.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate

  • Proficient in video editing and audio editing (must have training, degree or proven experience);
  • Proficient in animation and motion design (Adobe After Effects and other tools)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Adobe Suite apps.
  • Excellent and clear communication and collaboration skills;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Creative approach to problem-solving;
  • Ownership, autonomy, self-reliance and entrepreneurial drive.
  • Eagerness to learn, develop and improve their editing and animation skills.
