Bua Oscar Denis, our National Coordinator for Uganda, discusses his experience working with Students For Liberty.

1. What made you decide to join Students For Liberty?

I  joined students for Students For Liberty because I have passion for leadership and so much resonated with the mission. I also wanted to meet and learn, engage and be mentored by the various inspirational libertarian leaders from different African countries and around the world.

2. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as a student leader with Students For Liberty?

I believe as a leader (National Coordinator of SFL Uganda), I have managed to generate interest for various young people in the works and ideas of liberty through helping recruit local coordinators into the Local Coordinator Program. I am happy and proud that I have so far managed to recruit over 25 young people into Students For Liberty Uganda.

3. What are some of the best tools and resources Students For Liberty gave you?

Students For Liberty has given me adequate knowledge on leadership, training and recruitment. As a leader with SFL, I have also had access to content covering the ideas of a free society, libertarian books, and more.

4. What made you interested in the ideas of liberty?

I got interested in the ideas of liberty after learning and appreciating the possibilities that I have to change myself and my community. I have wanted a platform to communicate, share, inspire, and share my ideas about freedom, liberty, politics and economics.

5. What does liberty mean to you?

Liberty to me means being just free to engage, share, and do what you want to do with your life and for your life as long as you don’t tread on anyone.
