North American Operations Associate

Students For Liberty (SFL) is looking for an Operations Associate to strengthen the internal systems and infrastructure that power our North American programs. This role is essential in managing tracking tools, maintaining performance dashboards, and supporting grant reporting and proposal development. As part of the North American Programs Team, the Operations Associate will ensure data integrity across departments, optimize workflow systems, and help streamline communication between programs and development. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, enjoys working with spreadsheets and systems, and wants to play a behind-the-scenes role in expanding the liberty movement.

Key Responsibilities 

Proposal Development & Grant Management:

  • Draft and edit funding proposals, grant summaries, and related reports.
  • Support tracking and execution of active grants and donor deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the Development Team to ensure alignment on fundraising priorities.

Operational Systems & Project Tracking:

  • Design and manage interactive tracking systems to monitor program activities, KPIs, and deliverables.
  • Regularly update and refine spreadsheets and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and functionality.
  • Provide training and support to staff and students in using tracking systems effectively.
  • Analyze data to generate insights, monitor performance, and recommend process improvements.

Collaborative Systems & Cross-Departmental Operations:

  • Create and maintain collaborative spreadsheets for inter-departmental coordination.
  • Work with other teams to ensure tracking systems align with workflows and goals.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing tracking tools to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Assist the Program Director in implementing and refining systems for streamlined communication and accountability.

Technology & Workflow Optimization:

  • Learn and implement new tools (e.g., Airtable, Notion, Google Sheets, etc.) to streamline operations.
  • Use technical skills to improve systems that support nonprofit programs and development.
  • Document systems and workflows for long-term use and onboarding.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about liberty and SFL’s mission & vision. 
  • Strong proficiency with spreadsheets, including Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable building dashboards and visual reports for internal use.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a willingness to learn new tools.
  • Full proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency with G-Suite; experience with Airtable, Notion, or CRM systems is a plus.
  • Ability to self-motivate, work autonomously, and collaborate in a remote team.
  • Willingness to travel periodically (~10%) for events and training programs.
