Students For Liberty (SFL) is looking for an Events Associate to support the organization and execution of training events, retreats, and major student-led projects across North America. This role is instrumental in coordinating logistics, managing event materials and SWAG distribution, and providing direct support to students hosting policy-related initiatives on their campuses. As part of the North American Programs Team, the Events Associate will play a key role in enhancing the student experience at SFL events, ensuring seamless event operations, and providing hands-on assistance for activism, training, and policy initiatives. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution:
- Organizing staff training retreats, including but not limited to TLR and ADVLR.
- Managing event operations, including venue logistics, student travel arrangements, and day-of execution.
- Ensure smooth event registration, communication, and post-event follow-up for participants and staff.
Student Event & Project Support:
- Providing hands-on guidance to students organizing campus events, activism projects, and policy initiatives.
- Coordinating event promotion efforts with SFL’s Recruitment Associate, including digital marketing, paid ads, and outreach strategies to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Assisting with funding requests, reimbursements, and budget tracking for student events.
SWAG & Event Materials Management:
- Overseeing inventory, ordering, and distribution of SWAG (stickers, banners, T-shirts, books, etc.) to LCs and our network.
- Ensuring timely shipment and delivery of materials to event locations.
- Tracking SWAG performance and impact, optimizing distribution for brand awareness and student engagement.
Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities:
- Managing data tracking and reporting for recruitment and outreach metrics.
- Upholding SFL’s brand, culture, and mission with volunteers and external partners.
- Supporting speaker coordination and scheduling for retreats and training sessions.
- Collaborating with other teams to initiate and streamline new programs and projects.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about liberty and SFL’s mission & vision.
- 1-2 years of experience in event coordination, logistics, or student engagement.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with SWAG management, vendor coordination, and budget tracking.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
- Full proficiency in English.
- Proficiency with G-Suite, spreadsheets, and event management tools.
- Experience with social media, digital marketing, and outreach strategies is a plus.
- Ability to self-motivate, work autonomously, and collaborate in a remote team.
- Willingness to travel periodically (~30%) for events and training programs.
