This project empowers SFL coordinators worldwide to become liberty-focused storytellers through film. The “Liberty Lens” initiative addresses a current gap in SFL’s outreach toolkit: while thousands of Local Coordinators host impactful events, few have the creative training to share their message through compelling visual content. This initiative builds a structured, scalable filmmaking program within the network.
Through online workshops in pre-production, production, and editing, participants learn to create liberty-themed short films, which are then entered into a global competition. Winners are awarded prizes and showcased at LibertyCon Europe, creating a platform for student-created narratives on freedom, free markets, and individual rights. In its first year, the program aims to train over 100 coordinators and produce 50+ films, forming the foundation of a recurring global film festival.
Initial Objectives:
- Train at least 100 SFL coordinators in filmmaking (pre/post/production)
- Collect and screen 50+ short films reflecting liberty themes
- Award $500 regional prizes and a $1,000 international grand prize at LibertyCon Europe
