Bringing Liberty to Life Through African Voices

Impact Project: Afro Liberty Talks: African Voices of Freedom

Afro Liberty Talks is a media-based initiative aiming to redefine how liberty is perceived by African youth. Through short video episodes that integrate classical liberal values with African cultural narratives, the project tackles the widespread misconception that liberty is a foreign concept.
Led by African Justice Media, the project blends interviews, storytelling, and debates in a visually engaging format distributed on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook. The team targets young Ugandans aged 16–30 (especially students and first-time voters) with themes such as economic freedom, youth empowerment, and digital rights. Afro Liberty Talks avoids politicized language while fostering civic awareness and promoting liberty through cultural pride and relatable examples.
The team plans to produce five high-quality episodes and train 10 young influencers to advocate for liberty in digital spaces. With existing studio infrastructure and a strong online presence, the project is positioned to create a scalable model for culturally grounded liberty education in Africa.

Initial Objectives

  • Produce 5 video episodes highlighting liberty from an African cultural lens;
  • Grow digital audience by 30% on TikTok and YouTube;
  • Train 10 youth influencers to promote liberty through social media content.
