Team Montenegro Established!

Published on

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the gradual but noteworthy progress of Students For Liberty Montenegro. In just under a year, this team has evolved from its humble beginnings into a commendable force within the Montenegrin landscape.

The journey began with the team laying its foundation and quickly adapting to the responsibilities at hand. Instead of dwelling solely on theoretical discussions, they focused on practical initiatives. Regular events became a staple, providing a platform for individuals interested in liberty to convene and discuss their principles.

SFL Montenegro also recognized the significance of education as a tool for change. They actively engaged with universities and schools aiming to instill and spread the values of liberty among students. This on-the-ground effort was complemented by a well-planned social media recruitment campaign, reaching out to those who resonated with their cause.

Here’s what Albana Bikaj, National Coordinator of SFL Montenegro had to say about the motivations for starting the team:

“The decision to start SFL in Montenegro was driven by the desire to make a change within my community. Throughout my studies and internships, I noticed a lack of youth engagement with political matters, many being skeptical or simply disinterested. Seeing the potential for positive change through the principles of liberty, I felt compelled to create a space where like-minded individuals could come together, share ideas, and work towards a common goal.

My primary goal was to create a space that transcends political affiliations, where young individuals could actively participate without supporting any particular party. I wanted to demonstrate that each person, as an individual, holds the power to make a significant impact. Despite the challenges we’ve faced, including a lack of interest and support from universities, I believe that it’s an ongoing effort to shift perspectives and encourage the youth to recognize their potential in shaping the future through collective action.”

A recent appearance on the morning show of “TV7” marked a notable milestone for the team. In this spotlight moment, Students For Liberty Montenegro shared their mission with a broader audience, encouraging students to apply for the Local Coordinator Program and shedding light on upcoming events.

Aside from the achievements, what stands out is the collective spirit driving SFL Montenegro forward. Their dedication and commitment reflect the potential of grassroots movements in affecting positive change. The success of SFL Montenegro serves as an example of what can be achieved when a group shares a vision of a freer future. The ESFL community hopes that they continue to make strides, encouraging others to join the cause and contributing to the conversation around liberty in the region.

“For me, ESFL is more than just an organization. It represents a community of individuals dedicated to promoting and defending the principles of liberty, free markets, and individual rights. Through ESFL, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with like-minded individuals from different backgrounds, each contributing a unique perspective to our shared commitment to liberty.

It also is a platform that encourages these kinds of individuals to participate in intellectual discussions, while promoting critical thinking, and, on top of that, it provides the tools and resources necessary to advocate for a freer and more prosperous society.” — Albana Bikaj
