SFL Portugal appears on a popular podcast

Duarte Alves and Joao Silva, were invited to appear on a popular Portuguese show to discuss Students For Liberty and ways towards a freer future

This summer, Duarte Alves, our National Coordinator for Portugal, and Joao Silva, were invited as guests on Zuga Podcast  – a popular Portuguese show – to discuss Students For Liberty, libertarianism, and ways towards a freer future.

The podcast began with a discussion about Students For Liberty and its impact in other countries, how the team works in Portugal, and what their vision is for expanding the organization and their activities in the future. After that, the conversation turned to other subjects, ranging from culture to politics and even sports.

“Some of it was more professional and other parts were more fun and relaxed. Just like SFL,” says Duarte, who recently became European Events Intern with Students For Liberty, alongside his role as National Coordinator. “We gained a lot of new followers on our local channels after the podcast, but I think the main thing is that we made a significant step in terms of SFL’s brand recognition In Portugal, and we have established that other LCs may have the same opportunities.”

The team is coming back to record another episode this month – and they will have a lot to discuss, as the team has since organized a number of events, started a newsletter with articles by their members, as well as having hosted their first post-pandemic regional conference, Liberty Next, where they discussed topics related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology.
