From more than 7,000 applicants, 382 were selected for The African Liberty Writing Fellowship: an intensive training in public policy analysis and opinion writing. So far, 134 have graduated as full fellows.
Alumni of the African Liberty Writing Fellowship now work in embassies, government offices, and major media outlets such as Agence France-Presse and the Associated Press. Their writing has influenced public debate, shaped policy outcomes, and expanded the intellectual footprint of liberty across Africa.
Beyond journalism, the program has fueled broader impact through magazines, policy essays, books, and national media appearances, including television commentary, reaching millions of viewers. Together, these efforts reflect a growing, confident network of African writers advancing the ideas of liberty at scale.
