Students For Liberty alumnus is elected to the City Council of the City of Tuzla

A former Students For Liberty activist, Admir Čavalić, is elected as City Council member in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

[Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina] Students For Liberty is proud to announce that their former student leader, Admir Čavalić, was elected as a member of the City Council of the City of Tuzla. The official results were announced on December 15, 2020 by the Central Electoral Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

This election is a milestone for Students For Liberty on their mission to advance the ideas of a free society in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Admir Čavalić stated the following on his social media page:

“This is the proof that changes are possible, which I will show in the coming period. We will focus, of course, on the program I have prepared, new ideas, initiatives, and generally different values ​​in our local politics. I am happy to work with others in the City Council, especially the progressive group. We can definitely congratulate Tuzla on these elections.”

This news comes in the wake of recent victories from SFL alumni in Brazil’s local elections, which took place on November 15, 2020:

  • Marcela Tropia was elected as a vereadores in Belo Horizonte, with 10,741 votes
  • Pedro Duarte was elected as a vereadores in Rio de Janeiro, with 10,069 votes
  • Angelo Guaresi was elected as a vereadores in Rio Grande do Sul, with 471 votes
  • Leticia Arsênio was elected as a deputy vereadores of Pedro Duarte in Rio de Janeiro, with 9,726 votes
