  1. What made you decide to join Students For Liberty?

I was 17 years old when I attended the Tbilisi Regional Conference and became very fascinated by all topics discussed throughout the event, especially one covering the drug war around the world, considering the cruel laws which currently exist in Georgia.

I decided to apply for the Local Coordinator Program to take part in empowering youth and making important steps towards promoting the idea of liberty in Georgia.

  1. What was your biggest accomplishment as a student leader with Students For Liberty?

Throughout more than three years of being a Local Coordinator, I have developed crucial personal and professional skills because of my involvement in activities provided by Students For Liberty.

One of my biggest accomplishments as a student leader was being a Development Intern for more than half a year. Working with Luca Bertoletti has taught me a lot about communicating with potential partners, fulfilling a job professionally, and being dedicated to providing great service for our sponsors and donors.

While I was an intern I felt very proud because I knew I was taking part in strengthening Students For Liberty, which has totally changed my life.

  1. What are some of the best tools and resources Students For Liberty gave you?

First of all, SFL has made me change my thinking as I learned about ideas which made me want to fight for liberty and change the attitude of students in Georgia about the ideas of freedom.

I became more educated, highly organized, and self-confident. Nowadays, I have the courage to cope with complex tasks and have a belief in myself that I am able to complete anything I really wish to.

Besides, I learned a lot about how to organize events, manage teams, and communicate with sponsors, which assists me in all of my daily activities.

  1. What would you tell someone who’s considering getting involved?

I would advise everyone interested in the ideas of liberty to get involved with Students For Liberty.

It is the most valuable organization to spend your student years with, since it gives you all the chance to understand who you really are and what you want to do with your life.

When you are a student, it is very hard to have a vision for your future and being a member of SFL provides you with many important opportunities to help you become the best version of yourself.

  1. What made you interested in the ideas of liberty?

From my earliest years, I was very worried about drug possession laws in Georgia.

After years of protests, people are still arrested for possessing drugs for 8 to 20 years, which for me is very unfair.

I strongly believe the drug laws in Georgia need to be relaxed and that was the issue which made me especially interested in the ideas of liberty.

I strongly believe that with the education of youth in Georgia, SFL has all the power to make the first and most important steps towards amending drug possession laws in my country.

  1. What does liberty mean TO YOU?

For me, liberty is the most important idea worth fighting for and worth devoting your whole life to.

While I am organizing events about liberty and taking part in educating youth in my country, I really believe I am taking part in making this world a better place to live in, where you are able to pursue your life in the way you wish, and aren’t controlled by anyone.
