Leadership, Libertarianism, and Investing: The Journey of Global Investor Rick Rule

The team at Students For Liberty are delighted to announce that, on June 18, 2020, at 12PM EST, our CEO, Dr. Wolf von Laer, will host an interview with Rick Rule, President and CEO of Sprott U.S. Holdings. This webinar, titled “Leadership, Libertarianism, and Investing: The Journey of Global Investor Rick Rule,” is the second event from our Liberty at Home series.

Rick Rule has several decades of experience in the securities business, specializing in natural resource security investments. His area of expertise covers a broad range of fields, such as mineral exploration, oil and gas exploration, water, agriculture, and energy, particularly hydro-electric and geothermal energy.

In this webinar, Mr. Rule will discuss his journey through many years of involvement in the world of natural resource securities. In 1993, he founded Global Resource Investments, and currently serves as the CEO/President of Sprott, Inc., an investment manager based in Toronto with over $14 billion in assets under management. In his role, he leads a globally reputable team of experts working across all areas of the natural resource industry. The three U.S. subsidiary companies that constitute Sprott U.S. Holdings work in securities brokerage, segregated account money management, and investment partnership management, involving both equity and debt instruments. As well as being a highly sought-after speaker within the industry, Rick Rule also regularly contributes to major media outlets such as CNBC, BNN, and Fox Business News.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has led to times of unprecedented economic uncertainty, with many significant challenges ahead on the road to recovery. Although commodities have fared poorly against equities in recent years, Mr. Rule believes that we will see a major commodities bull market in the near future. In his view, a significant factor behind this will be the response of gold and silver markets to real inflation rates, particularly in light of the current economic turmoil.

A fierce critic of modern monetary policy, he highlights the scale of the national debt problem in the United States, stating that the government’s approach to servicing the national debt amounts to counterfeiting. He asserts that quantitative easing will result in the price of precious metals soaring. Mr. Rule has also emphasized the importance of expertise in investment, warning that “a stock that you don’t know is a stock that will punish you.”

If you are interested in the opportunity to hear Rick Rule discuss his journey throughout his many years of involvement in the world of natural resource securities, along with his insights on the current state of the market, make sure to join us on June 18, at 12PM Eastern Time.

We look forward to seeing you there!
