Across two days of hands-on learning, participants will make durable reusable pads, discuss menstrual health openly, and gain skills that reduce dependence on costly products. Afterward, the group will create mentorship circles so each woman can teach others and keep the knowledge circulating in their communities. This approach reinforces autonomy, body confidence, and long-term resilience.
The project stands out because it offers a warm, community-led model that tackles period poverty through practical skill-building rather than short-term aid. It also fits rural Malawi’s context, where economic barriers, cultural silence, and limited access to menstrual products affect women daily. By combining training, dialogue, and mentorship, Freedom Flow Malawi builds real independence and supports women in taking charge of their wellbeing.
Initial Objectives:
- Train 20 women to make safe, reusable menstrual pads.
- Strengthen menstrual health knowledge and confidence.
- Form 3 mentorship circles for continued training and support.
- Ensure each participant teaches at least 5 additional women within 6 months.
