On Students For Liberty: “One of the first things I did after I moved from Poland to the UK for university, was I set up a Liberty Society at my campus. Despite being one of the biggest universities in the country, it lacked any organization aimed at advancing freedom, and that needed to be changed. I joined Students for Liberty 3 months later, invited by an exchange-student (Ethan Yang) who run a chapter in the US. In a few months I was the Head of Outreach, then Head of Operations, then National Coordinator and then Regional Coordinator. With friends I met in SFL we established the first market-environmentalist organization in the country, the British Conservation Alliance. Our first in-person team meeting was during my first SFL Top Leadership Retreat in Gummersbach, Germany, when during a social the BCA’s President Christopher Barnard and I sat down to write a contract for Campus Coordinators. I became the Campus Outreach Director and had my first speech at an SFL Regional Conference in Turkey. Then another in Israel, in Slovakia, and in Poland. A year after that Gummersbach meeting I became the BCA’s President, and remained in that position for a year and a half. We built it to become the largest youth-led environmentalist group in the country. When COP26 was happening in Scotland we organized the first youth-led conference during COP – The Youth Environment Summit, with 40 speakers from 5 continents over 2 days. SFL was there. When moving to the US to continue my education after graduation, I transferred to the North American SFL, which had an opening for a Regional Coordinator. I took on that role and soon became the Chair of then newly formed North American Executive Board. Working closely with the senior staff I helped shape the strategy of the region. Once it transitioned into a house system and the leadership changed, I took on a new role as the Operations and Strategy Advisor. All that was happening over the course of 4 years, living in 3 countries on 2 continents, working multiple jobs full time and part time, graduating from my bachelor’s degree with first-class honors, and studying for an MPA at NYU. SFL has been there the whole time. It allowed me to create programs and campaigns, build my skillset, get published in Speak Freely, use my leadership skills, and most importantly develop friendships that I will always cherish. My SFL Family.”
