Open Data is the first Impact Project in Venezuela focused on combating misinformation through data verification. Designed for young activists in the state of Yaracuy, the initiative blends civic education with hands-on digital training to address the country’s growing information crisis and build a culture of transparency, truth, and free expression.

The project will kick off with a pilot event for 40 participants and continue with 8 online mentorship sessions over 6 months. Activists will learn to identify fake news, use AI-assisted verification tools, and conduct reverse image and text searches, while also publishing verified content through @eslibertadorg. Local partners include Fundación Marcelino Pan y Vino, Cazadores de Fake News, República TV, and regional democratic networks.
