Timothy Morenikeji, our National Coordinator for Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, discusses his experience with Students For Liberty as well as what liberty means to him.

1. What made you decide to join Students For Liberty?

What prompted me to join Students For Liberty is knowing that they provide a platform to display my passion. It was an avenue to nurture the infant libertarian in me to become a growing ambassador of liberty.

2. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as a student leader with Students For Liberty?

My biggest accomplishment has been rising through the leadership ladder from a Local Coordinator to a National Coordinator. In order to do this, I needed to find a way to work with people beyond my geographical location. This reinforces the knowledge that territorial boundaries should not be a barrier to developing leaders who advocate for liberty.

3. What are some of the best tools and resources Students For Liberty gave you?

Students For Liberty has sharpened my leadership skills, gave me the ability to plan and execute events, taught me how to manage funds, communicate effectively, and be able to manage groups, both on a macro and micro scale.

4. What made you interested in the ideas of liberty?

“Man was born free, but he is in bondage everywhere he is.” Having a passion to change the narrative is what ignites me to grow my knowledge of classical liberty, and Students For Liberty provides this for me without demanding a dime.

5. What does liberty mean to you?

Liberty is the state of an individual’s freedom that is from any form of oppression.
