This march, the first John Galt Retreat, organized by SFL Madrid, took place in Navas de la Estena, amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the CabaƱeros National Park. Participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature while staying in tipis and preparing their own meals over the fireplace, fostering a sense of camaraderie and connection with their surroundings.
At this retreat focused on Objectivism, attendees delved into the various facets of Ayn Rand’s philosophy, exploring her book “Anthem,” her Political Philosophy , epistemology, aesthetics, and her relationship with the Classics. Through engaging discussions and thought-provoking sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of Rand’s ideas and their relevance in today’s world.
In addition to exploring Objectivism in a theoretical way, the retreat featured workshops on creative writing and the Objectivist perspective on love, providing attendees with practical tools and insights to further their personal and intellectual development. These interactive sessions fostered a sense of community and collaboration among participants, enhancing the overall learning experience.
