Mohammad Anas Khan is currently the President’s Distinguished Graduate Scholar (2022-2024) in the Masters in Environmental and Social Change Program (MESC) at the University of Winnipeg. Anas holds a law degree and a post-graduate diploma in Human Rights. He has actively participated in South Asia Students For Liberty, where he assumed the role of student leader from 2017 to 2020. Following this, Anas worked full-time as a Senior Associate in the policy training and outreach division of the Centre for Civil Society – New Delhi. Additionally, he serves as a faculty instructor on environmental policy for epolicy, a three-day certificate course on a public policy designed for young graduates and professionals, conducted by the Centre for Civil Society – New Delhi. During his time at CCS, Anas successfully managed significant environmental policy projects focusing on property rights based forest management and rights-based approaches to fisheries management. His research interests include public policy, legal theory, rights-based conservation, human rights, and the role of markets in mitigating climate change. Anas envisions his future at the intersection of think tanks and academia, where he aims to communicate complex academic ideas into sound policy solutions.
