Bio: Oshan serves as a National Youth Officer in Learning and Innovation, at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He is passionate in the areas of youth advocacy, sustainable development, reconciliation and peacebuilding. Having ample knowledge and experience in programme management, event coordination, administration, volunteer management, training, digital advocacy and media monitoring acquired through his previous engagements with various state, private and NGO entities – he has played very crucial roles in many youth skill building and peacebuilding related programmes proving to be an aspired and successful leader.
As a Global Citizen, he contributes to many youth and volunteer organizations – locally and globally – such as IMCD, GCED Online Campus, UNESCO/APCEIU and Students for Liberty. He is a certified facilitative trainer in Youth Advocacy, Global Citizenship Education, SDGs, Design Thinking and Peace and Conflict Resolution.
Being open-minded and professional – willing to take up challenges in a dynamic, multicultural environment as a committed and reliable team player – Oshan strongly believes in sustainable peace via education and wholeheartedly values human rights, democracy, rule of law and liberty. He believes that SFL will be a place of opportunity that provides him with a chance to make a positive impact in the world itself.
