South Asia Programs Manager


Students For Liberty (SFL) is the largest pro-liberty student organization in the world with students active in 117 countries on every inhabited continent. With a multi-million dollar budget and 55 full-time staff members, we serve pro-liberty students in their pursuit to become leaders of liberty. Our mission is to educate, develop, and empower the next generation of leaders of liberty. We accomplish this through a strategy of empowerment, identifying the top students, and training them to be agents of change in their communities. Last school year, our students organized over 2,300 events with over 570,000 people in attendance. We are a remote, vibrant, and entrepreneurial organization working with a diverse team in the US and around the world.

South Asia Students For Liberty (SASFL) is a region within SFL that is now looking for a Programs Manager who will work full-time managing and executing the strategic plan and budget for the 200+ SFL volunteer leaders in South Asia, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

The Programs Manager will be responsible for shaping and consistent progress toward accomplishing the goals for South Asia; SASFL’s growth in new sub-regions; SASFL’s communications including partner relationships, email newsletter, and social media platforms; and serving as a role model to the incoming generations of pro-liberty activists.

The Programs Manager will also supervise the South Asia Programs Associate, and will be ultimately responsible for ensuring successful execution of educational and leadership programs and events; ensuring constant communication with dozens of activists across states and countries; student volunteer coordination; and all aspects of South Asia operations.

The position is based in South Asia, and requires traveling throughout the South Asia region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage successful execution of the SASFL strategic plan within budget
  • Supervise the South Asia Programs Associate
  • Oversee the growth of the organisation in new cities, states, and countries
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with related organizations in the region
  • Ensure effective marketing and communications
  • Support the leadership by contributing to event logistics and content development

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate

  • Familiarity with the network of pro-liberty groups and individuals in South Asia
  • Experience successfully executing events for students
  • Experience in volunteer and/or people management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work autonomously with entrepreneurial drive
  • Full proficiency in English
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Knowledge of the effective use of email and social media platforms
  • High proficiency with G suite.
