About the Organization

Students For Liberty (SFL) is the largest pro-liberty student organization in the world with students active in 117 countries on every inhabited continent. With a multi-million dollar budget and over 70 full-time staff members, we serve pro-liberty students in their pursuit to become leaders of liberty.  We accomplish this through a strategy of identifying the top students and then empowering them to be agents of change in their communities. Last school year, our students organized over 2,700 events with over 600,000 people in attendance. We are a fully virtual, vibrant, and entrepreneurial organization working with a diverse team in the U.S. and around the world.

Job Summary

Students For Liberty is currently seeking a passionate and professional individual to serve as the Australia Programs Manager to work closely with SFL volunteer students spread across the country, aiming to build a freer future.

The Programs Manager will be responsible for the fulfillment of SFL’s organizational goals in Australia by ensuring that program operations are aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan. The position is a full-time contractor role in Australia and may require traveling throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

A successful candidate will have a firm commitment to libertarian ideas and to SFL’s vision and mission statements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, track, and report program activities.
  • Provide assigned resources with adequate oversight.
  • Develop and implement strategies for student recruitment, retention, and engagement.
  • Provide goal-focused mentoring, training, and support to volunteers.
  • Assist leadership with their events and projects
  • Manage the newsletter, blog, and local social media accounts
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with local partners.
  • Travel to off-site retreats, trainings, and events.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Asia-Pacific Programs Manager.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A clear understanding of SFL’s vision and mission statements.
  • Livingand working in Australia.
  • Verifiable volunteer management and/or supervising experience.
  • Proven track record advancing libertarian ideas.
  • Excellent relationships with local pro-liberty organizations and advocates.
  • Willingness to provide constant and timely assistance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organization and multitasking abilities.
  • Resourceful approach to problem-solving.
  • Google Office Suite proficiency.
  • Social media proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel periodically.
