About the Organization

Students For Liberty (SFL) is the largest pro-liberty student organization in the world with students active in 113 countries on every inhabited continent. With a multi-million dollar budget and over 88 full-time staff members, we serve pro-liberty students in their pursuit to become leaders of liberty.  We accomplish this through a strategy of identifying the top students and then empowering them to be agents of change in their communities. Last school year, our students organized over 1,900 events with over 215,000 people in attendance. We are a fully virtual, vibrant, and entrepreneurial organization working with a diverse team in the U.S. and around the world.

Position Summary

Students For Liberty is currently seeking a passionate and professional individual to serve as North American Programs Director. This is a full-time position managing and executing the strategic plan for SFL programs in North America. This role requires volunteer and staff management experience, program management experience, and expert ability to keep a team engaged, motivated, and results-focused.

The North American Programs Director will be responsible for ensuring the growth of the region, the ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a previous track record of creatively tackling challenges and inspiring teams. The Program Director will be responsible for fostering a community of active volunteers by working with a team of up to 300.

A successful candidate will have a firm commitment to classical-liberal ideas and to SFL’s vision and mission statements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape the future of the North American Programs: As the Director of North American Programs, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to build and shape a team of four inspired advocates for liberty! You’ll bring your vision and expertise to create a high-performing, motivated, and results-driven team that will drive the growth and impact of SFL’s programs in North America.
  • Champion for pro-liberty ideas and lead rapid responses to defend freedom in North America: As a visionary leader, you’ll be at the forefront of defending and promoting pro-liberty ideas in North America. With your entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think outside the box, you’ll quickly respond to new opportunities and challenges, leveraging the full potential of your team and network to make a meaningful impact on society.
  • Shape the future of North American pro-liberty movement: Your creativity, leadership, and strategic vision will help to set the direction for the North American pro-liberty movement. By building strong relationships with key organizations and stakeholders, you’ll ensure that SFL remains at the forefront of advancing pro-liberty ideas and making a difference in North America.
  • Lead and mentor a dynamic and ambitious team, guiding them towards success and growth as they take on new challenges
  • Play a crucial role in the growth and expansion of the North American region by continuously achieving and exceeding goals and driving change
  • Be a visionary leader, taking on the challenge of creating innovative and impactful yearly North American Programs Strategic Plans that shape the future
  • Champion the ideals of SFL by effectively communicating and marketing the organization’s vision, mission and values to a wider audience
  • Embody the spirit of SFL, upholding the values, culture and brand while providing guidance and direction to the team
  • Embrace a solutions-focused mindset, utilizing creative problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on
  • Have the opportunity to make a tangible difference, with fundraising experience being a huge plus!

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with the network of pro-liberty groups and individuals
  • Volunteer and staff management experience
  • Program management experience
  • Ability to balance many different programs while maintaining attention to detail
  • Creative approach to problem-solving
  • Integrity, humility, and intellectual honesty
  • Positive solution-focused outlook
  • Willingness to learn and provide assistance as necessary
  • Familiarity with G-Suite, and use of collaborative document tools
  • Ability to show discretion
  • Ability to self-motivate, work autonomously, and show entrepreneurial drive in a remote work environment
  • Willingness to travel periodically
