Students For Liberty (SFL) is the largest pro-liberty student organization in the world with students active in 117 countries on every inhabited continent. With a multi-million dollar budget and over 70 full-time staff members, we serve pro-liberty students in their pursuit to become leaders of liberty. We accomplish this through a strategy of identifying the top students and then empowering them to be agents of change in their communities. Last school year, our students organized over 3,700 events with over 230,000 people in attendance. We are a fully virtual, vibrant, and entrepreneurial organization working with a diverse team in the U.S. and around the world.

Job Summary:

European Students For Liberty (ESFL), a region within Students For Liberty, is seeking a passionate, self-motivated, and professional individual to join the ESFL team as our new European Events Associate. The role involves working with volunteers across Europe and a team of staff from across the globe. The position is remote with occasional international travel required. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of all ESFL in-person and online events in Europe, ensuring that logistics and coordination are handled efficiently and within budget. The role also includes supervising event data reporting and tracking. The ESFL Events Associate will report directly to the European Programs Director and ensure pre-agreed targets and goals are being met on a regular basis.

In addition to supporting and facilitating the conferences and events of our volunteer network, the Events Associate will also be responsible for organizing our premiere Europe-wide annual event: LibertyCon.  

The successful candidate will have a firm commitment to the ideals of liberty and an understanding of SFL’s work, mission, and vision. 

Job Type:

Full-Time Contractor (remote).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a point-of-contact for volunteer leaders from 30+ European countries for event-related requests.
  • Oversee all event-related activities in ESFL.
  • Evaluate and manage all event proposals and reports, manage event data, and ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Work with the ESFL programs team on developing tools and procedures enhancing the volunteer experience.
  • Lead the organization of LibertyCon Europe.
  • Report to ESFL Programs Director.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in volunteer management or leading a team.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Critical thinking and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized mindset with an ambitious, goal-oriented outlook.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously with entrepreneurial drive.
  • Passion about the ideas of liberty.
  • Readiness to work flexible hours and travel according to need.
  • Proficiency with all G-Suite tools.

Further preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in events management.
  • Previous experience in fundraising.
  • Knowledge of social media and communication platforms.
  • Previous involvement with Students For Liberty.
  • Fluency in other European languages.
