From Financial Exclusion to Digital Sovereignty: The Bitsavers Eduhub Story
Status: Ongoing

Impact Project: Bitsavers Eduhub: Education for African Youth

Bitsavers Eduhub is a youth-centered financial education initiative that empowers young Africans with practical skills in Bitcoin and self-custody as tools for financial independence. Operating under the Liberty Lab at Students For Liberty Africa, the program targets individuals aged 18–30, especially those excluded from formal financial systems. Through cohort-based learning, a curated curriculum, and peer-to-peer engagement, Bitsavers fosters a network of informed savers across borders.

Following two successful cohorts, the program is expanding through a Campus Caravan, bringing Bitcoin and financial freedom education to five major Kenyan universities in 2025. Participants engage with themes like circular economies, decentralized finance, and objectivism, while connecting with mentors and Bitcoin-friendly service providers. By bridging the gap between financial literacy and digital sovereignty, Bitsavers cultivates a generation of self-reliant, liberty-aligned youth.

Initial Objectives

  • Double cohort size to 200+ participants;
  • Execute five university-based Bitcoin education caravans;
  • Introduce new curriculum layers (developers, journalists, circular economies);
  • Launch alumni peer groups and regional hubs;
  • Collaborate with ecosystem partners for curriculum enhancement and event support.
