George McHugh

Campus Coordinator

University of Texas, Austin

Bio: George McHugh is an undergraduate at UT Austin pursuing a BBA in Supply Chain Management. His interest in Austrian economics led him to co-found The Mises Circle at UT in Spring 2012. A big believer in unleashing human potential through innovation and entrepreneurship, George also is a Volunteer Ambassador for The Seasteading Institute. He began his intellectual journey in high school after becoming enthralled by the 2008 Ron Paul campaign and continued to learn more about liberty once arriving to college after an eleven month stay abroad in Belgium as a Rotary Youth Ambassador. After attending the 2011 Dallas Regional Conference and the 2012 International Students for Liberty Conference, George decided to take his activism to the next level.

Favorite figures in liberty: Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, Lysander Spooner, Frederic Bastiat, and Ron Paul

On Students For Liberty: “As a student coordinator, I look to reach out to other student groups in Texas and build community. Students for Liberty allows students activists to build and begin a freer society now.”
