It’s October, so that means Halloween is coming around the corner. Already, the students in Texas are prepping for a Halloween themed activism event the day before the ever-popular SFL Austin Regional Conference. The UT-Austin Libertarian Longhorns are calling for liberty activists and fun-loving individuals throughout Texas to descend upon Austin to participate in a zombie crawl dressed in 18th century attire.
The idea: The Founding Fathers of the Constitution (and other philosophers of liberty) are so angered and disgusted at the violations to the Constitution and liberty, that they are “rolling in their graves.”
What’s a zombie crawl? A zombie crawl is a walk from point A to point B by a group of individuals dressed up as zombies. They’re popular. They get attention. Everyone takes pictures. Everyone has fun. Come join!
On October 21st, the Founding Father Zombies (FFZ’s) will start out on the University of Texas campus to lurch, moan, and groan down to the Texas State Capitol Building. Since the politicians won’t use their brains, the FFZ’s will… for dinner.
The parade of ghastly bodies will be lead by a town-sayer (or fellow zombie leader) announcing to the horrified passersby that the Founders are back to set things straight. They cannot rest in peace knowing our governance is ridden with corruption at the expense of liberty. They won’t rest until they satisfy their hunger for bureaucrat brains (or until the crawl heads over to the social afterwards). Dress up and express your inner Founding Father Zombie!
Imagine a Ben Franklin zombie lurching down the streets of Texas’s Capitol with rotting flesh, dressing in 18th century garb, donning a deathly green bald-haired wig, and dragging a kite as he calls out for hunger-busting cephalic tissue; it’s quite a sight.
Check out the first of a series of videos Morgan Freeman is making for the event. She teaches you how to apply your own creepy looking zombie face makeup:
The zombie-walk is Oct. 21st at 7:00PM (this is the day before the Students For Liberty Regional Conference in Austin). Make sure to come to both events if you can! There will be a social at a restaurant bar afterwards (all ages welcome), details TBA.
Get your costumes ready! More videos to come to show you how!
