Our final profile of Student of the Year Nominees is Dennis Craig of George Washington University. In the past year
Dennis has lead two different pro-liberty student groups, both the Temple College Libertarians last spring (he transfered to GWU in the summer) and the George Washington Liberty Society which he founded this fall. Along with these two on campus groups he was also instrumental in the growth of the DC Forum for Freedom and its Cato Institute Lecture Series.
Here is a list of Dennis Craig’s many accomplishments this year. The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, February 12th at the International Students For Liberty Conference.
- Temple Libertarians President
- Hosted Patri Friedman of the Seasteading Institute.
- As member of the Philadelphia Forum for Freedom helped the Drexel Student Liberty Front host an event with David Boaz and John Stossel.
- SFL Campus Coordinator for Philadelphia.
- Attended 2009 International SFL Conference
- District Coordinator for Ron Paul’s presidential campaign.
- President and Co-Founder of the George Washington University Liberty Society
- Hosted Robert McNamara of the Institute for Justice for his lecture “Liberty and the Role of the Courts”.
- Hosted FIRE President Greg Lukianoff.
- Organized an on campus Internship Semianr with representatives from IHS, Bureaucrash, Cato, SFL, and the Tax Foundation.
- Debated the Enosinian Society over Hate Crime legislation.

- Organized 11 members of the GW Liberty Society for a group trip to the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Students For Liberty Conference.
- DC Forum for Freedom
- Help organize the DC Forum for Freedom, that nations top coalition of local pro-liberty student groups.
- Taken a leadership role within the DC Forum for Freedom.
- Coordinated monthly events for the DC Forum for Freedom at the Cato Institute.
- Organized GW Liberty Society trips to attend other DC Forum events.
- Bob Barr at American University.
- Lew Rockwell at George Mason University.
- Aaron Biterman of the Republican Liberty Caucus at American University.
- Liberty Panel – George Mason University Econ Society.

















Students like this remind me of those football players who can hit a tackling sled and push it 25 yards down the field.
We need lots of interested students, but we also need those energetic souls who simply DO NOT STOP. Well done, Mr. Craig.
