Students For Liberty publications provide authoritative analysis on best practices for running student organizations dedicated to liberty. These publications are the product of aggregating diffuse information and data on how students run organizations for liberty around the U.S. By compiling comprehensive accounts of how to effectively organize students, these handbooks will help transfer knowledge between individuals for the common cause of liberty.

How to Start a Student Organization for Liberty
This handbook provides a simple, 10-step process to starting an organization dedicated to liberty. Feel free to share it with friends who want to start an organization for liberty.
The Libertarian Campus Calendar is a template for student organizations to follow during the academic year. It provides a list of important historical events in the cause of liberty and suggestions for activities that organizations can hold each month.
College Students: the Future & the Present
SFL’s Executive Director, Alexander McCobin, wrote “College Students: the Future & the Present” for the State Policy Network’s 2009 January/February Newsletter. The article covers the importance of state-based think tanks supporting students, how think tanks can identify students, and the best ways think tanks can help students. PDF version here (on page 3). Sample Executive Board Handbook
One of the most effective means of transitioning leadership is to produce and pass down an Executive Board Handbook that provides pertinent information to the new Executive Board about how to run the organization. Check out SFL’s Sample Executive Board Handbook as an example of what you can produce.
This handbook provides a 5 step plan for hosting a student protest for liberty as well as many tips and insights to make sure that your protest for liberty is successful! If you plan to host a student protest for liberty, be sure to apply for a Student Protest Grant. Even if you do not receive financial support for your protest, we will work to help provide you with non-monetary resources and support.

Additional handbooks will be continuously published by SFL to better support student organizations’ efforts to promote liberty. Some topics that we are exploring include:

These handbooks are meant to serve students and directly address pressing student issues, so your input is extremely valuable.
