Ankur Chawla, University of California-San Diego, Exec Board
Ankur Chawla is a junior at the University of California, San Diego. He is studying Political Theory as his primary major and Economics and European History as his secondary minors. Ankur originally became interested in the movement for liberty in high school when he began to follow politics and could not find any real difference between mainstream politicians.

Carlo Cordasco, University of Pisa, Exec Board
Carlo began studying classical liberalism at age 16 after reading Human Action by Mises. Carlo founded the Italian Students for Individual Liberty and the Italian Hayek Association. He was the editor-in-chief of the 2010 Journal of Liberty and Society. He is a research fellow at the Tocqueville-Acton Institute.

Dennis Craig, George Washington University, Exec Board
Dennis is an undergraduate at The George Washington University where he is pursuing a degree in International Affairs. Dennis was a leader in the Temple Libertarians at Temple University before transferring to The George Washington University where he founded the Liberty Society; an academic organization dedicated to promoting individual, economic, civil, and political liberties.

Sam Eckman, University of Chicago, Director
Sam attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a Koch Summer Fellow in 2007. Sam spent the next two years working as a legislative assistant for Senator Arlen Specter. Sam will be starting his first year of law school at the University of Chicago this fall.

Alexander Falkenstein, Arizona State University, Exec Board
Alexander was first introduced to the Austrian School of Economics after reading The Road to Serfdom. Experiences both inside and outside the classroom have strengthened his desire to fight for liberty. Alexander joined the SFL Executive Board for the 2009-2010 school year after starting the ASU Students For Liberty. Alexander has subsequently been a critical figure in promoting liberty in the West.

Sloane Frost, University of Chicago, Director
Sloane is pursuing her Masters in Public Policy at the University of Chicago. She graduated from Cornell University in 2008. She became interested in liberty after studying the relationship between economics and government in high school and particularly while studying health care in college. Sloane served with City Year, an AmeriCorps program, before entering graduate school this past year.

Kelly Jemison, James Madison University, Exec Board
Kelly Jemison is currently a Junior at James Madison University pursuing a double major in Economics and International Affairs with an area focus in the Middle East. After being exposed to libertarian principles when she read Atlas Shrugged in high school, she attended an Institute for Humane Studies summer seminar that inspired her to take on the cause of liberty. Kelly teamed up with fellow students to co-found the organization of which she is now president, Madison Liberty, which advocates for the ideals in which she so strongly believes.

Masood Manoochehri, Columbia University, Exec Board
Masood’s personal experiences, including a dozen years in the New Jersey public school system and two years of studying abroad in Iran, motivated him to reconsider the role of government. Masood is particularly interested in the intersection between science and philosophy.

Alexander McCobin, Georgetown University, President & Director
Alexander recognized the formal principles of his beliefs after reading Atlas Shrugged in ninth grade. After founding the Penn Libertarian Association in as an undergraduate, Alexander spent a year as a Koch Associate at the Cato Institute. He is currently pursuing his PhD in philosophy at Georgetown.

Pericles Niarchos, Drexel University, Exec Board
Pericles is currently a senior at Drexel University studying History and Politics. Pericles joined the Student Liberty Front early on in his studies to learn more about politics and has been actively pro-liberty ever since.

Liya Palagashvili, George Mason University, Exec Board
Liya’s love for free markets led her to George Mason University, where she is currently pursuing a degree in Economics with a minor in Philosophy of Law. At George Mason, Liya is the Vice President of the Economics Society and member of the GMU Students for Liberty.

Irena Schneider, American University, Exec Board
A rising junior, Irena is originally from Russia and has always been fascinated by the clash of political philosophies between her old home and new home in the US. Irena became involved by forming a student group at AU, founding the DC Forum for Freedom to unite DC student groups, and being an active member of the SFL Exec Board.

Michael Sertic, California State University-Sacramento, Exec Board
Michael is an undergraduate studying economics at CSU Sacramento, where he established and presided over the Students for Liberty group on campus. He became interested in libertarian philosophy after the 2008 elections, prior to which he was a disenchanted Independent.

Brandon Wasicsko, Florida Gulf Coast University, Exec Board
Brandon was first introduced to the term “libertarian” in 2007 during Ron Paul’s presidential campaign and to Objectivism while taking BB&T’s “Moral Foundations of Capitalism” course during his second year of college. He co-founded Eagles for Liberty in the fall of 2009.

Clark Ruper, Vice President
Clark is a University of Michigan alumnus and committed pro-liberty activist. Early in college he was inspired by the writings of seminal philosophers: Locke, Aristotle, Bastiat, Rand, Rothbard, and Nozick. He went on to take campus leadership roles with the UM Young Americans for Freedom, College Libertarians, and Students of Objectivism. Since graduating, he has committed himself to a lifelong defense of liberty. In the past few years Clark has worked for many pro-freedom causes, such as: The Michigan Civil Rights Initiative, the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, The Michigan Taxpayers Alliance, and FreedomWorks. From personal experience he believes that college activism is one of the best ways to get young people excited about the ideas of liberty. He was thrilled to join SFL in June 2009 and has played a pivotal role in SFL’s growth since then.

Blayne Bennett, Communications Manager
Blayne graduated from Arizona State University in May 2010 with a degree in Finance. Blayne noticed that fellow business students seemed to lack an interest in free market principles and instead favored more socialist ideals. Alarmed, Blayne began working to host events with the goal of inspiring business students to embrace free market capitalism. Through these efforts Blayne was blessed to encounter many people who inspired in her a love for all aspects of liberty.

Peter Neiger, Internal Operations Manager
Peter is an alumnus of The College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. During college he held several leadership positions in the Student Government Association, Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, and Phi Gamma Delta. Prior to college Peter served for four years in the United States Army as an Infantry Paratrooper where he deployed to two combat environments. After college Peter participated in the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation Associate Program where he worked as a researcher for the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. Outside of work, Peter enjoys political discussions, skydiving, live music, travel, and handgun marksmanship.
