Irena Schneider
Name: Irena Schneider
Position: Mid-Atlantic Director
School: American University
Bio: Irena Schneider is a sophomore at American University pursuing liberty alongside a double degree in literature and international relations. Originally from Russia, she was always fascinated by the clash of political philosophies between her old home and new home in the United States. Finally convinced about her libertarian tendencies after joining the Ron Paul movement, she looked forward to getting further involved in college only to find that there was no libertarian presence on campus. At the last moment, she and a friend took a risk and decided to begin their own students for liberty club. Since then, the club at AU has become incredibly thriving and active, and Irena has gone on to co-found the DC Forum for Freedom and intern at the Libertarian Party. She will continue her studies in comparative politics, foreign policy, and literature in the hopes of one day becoming a professor, mentor, and all-around freedom fighter.
Favorite Figures in Liberty: John Locke, Friedrich Hayek, Mohandas Gandhi, Ron Paul
