Bio: Liya became interested in the principles of liberty and free markets through the writings of F.A. Hayek and Henry Hazlitt during her first economics class in high school. Liya recently graduated with a B.S. in Economics and is currently pursuing a Masters in Economics at George Mason University. During her undergraduate career, Liya was the President of the GMU Economics Society and member of the GMU Students for Liberty. She was a Koch Summer Fellow in 2009 and has previously interned at the Institute for Justice, Foundation for Economic Education, the Institute for Humane Studies, and Citizens Against Government Waste.
