Description
Students For Liberty’s Executive Board is the principal entity that drives SFL and has made SFL the strong organization it is today. The Executive Board is composed of current students and recent graduates who are passionate about liberty and interested in working to promote the cause of freedom to other students.
Responsibilities of membership on the Executive Board include:
- Minimum of 15 hours dedicated to SFL per week
- Leadership of at least 1 major SFL project (eg Journal of Liberty & Society, Foundations of Freedom Fellowship, etc.)
- Outreach to new student groups
- Interaction with existing pro-liberty student groups
- Helping organize a Regional or International Conference
- Additional duties as deemed necessary to promote SFL
The Executive Board position will last from July 2010-June 2011 with the possibility of re-election to additional terms. The 2010-2011 Executive Board will be selected during the International SFL Conference and training for the position will begin immediately afterward.
Who should apply
Applicants must either be students or alumni no more than 3 years out of school during the 2010-2011 school year to apply. Ideal candidates are not necessarily those with the most experience in running a student group, planning events, or engaging in outreach. We are looking for individuals who have the greatest potential in these areas, those who will add the most value to SFL in the long-run, whatever your background may be. The ideal applicants will have a passion for liberty so great it keeps you awake at night and a desire to not merely study the ideas of liberty, but work towards achieving liberty in the real world. This is not a position to seek lightly. Applicants should be ready to make SFL their top priority after school/work to ensure that the student movement for liberty is pushed forward.
Apply
Applications for the 2010-2011 Executive Board are closed. The 2010-2011 Executive Board will be chosen and announced at the 2010 International SFL Conference. All interested candidates for the Executive Board should plan to attend the ISFLC to meet with the current Executive Board and be present if you are chosen.
