Bio: Andy Fernandez is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin studying History and Economics. After finding out the many inconsistencies in conservatism, he came around to libertarianism after hearing Ron Paul during the 2008 presidential race. While his time in the liberty movement has been relatively short, it has proved to be extremely fruitful for him and his campus. Andy dove headfirst into the movement when he joined the Libertarian Longhorns at the UT campus in the Spring of 2009 and quickly began planning meetings, promoting the group, and helping out at the SFL-Texas Regional Conference in the Fall of 2009.
Favorite Figures in Liberty: Murray Rothbard, Mary Ruwart, Ludwig von Mises, Ron Paul
On Students For Liberty: “I am looking forward to expanding the SFL program by helping to reach out to other liberty-oriented organizations around Austin and helping start up many more! I am also looking forward to improving off of the success of last year’s SFL-Texas Conference!”
